We are perfectly situated on the beautiful Eastern Coast of Scotland, nestled within farm fields and but a stones throw away from the historic harbour of Auchmithie with its beautiful pebble beach and home to the famous Arbroath Smokie, the acclaimed restaurant of “the butt n ben” within walking distance if you fancy a treat out for the night. A further 6 miles north of Auchmithie you will find the best beach on the east coast of Scotland “Lunan Bay” 2 miles long sandwiched between red sandstone cliffs with amazing sand dunes, it’s a must see when visiting the area.

With important historical landmarks nearby and the lively fishing town of Arbroath a short distance from the cottage your days and nights will sure to be busy.

Hiking
With some of the greatest walking and hiking paths in Scotland nearby you are spoilt for choice, from costal walks to munro bagging, pop on your walking boots and hit the trail.

Home to some of the finest golf courses in the world, Angus offers an abundance of options within a short drive. Both the world famous Carnoustie and St Andrews courses can also be reached within the hour.
Beach Days
Spend a day on the beach with the famous Lunan Bay mere minutes from the doorstep. Explore the dunes, stick you feet in the sea or enjoy a picnic on the sandy beach and explore the historically significant coastline
Relaxing
If you simply want to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Cottage you can enjoy the outdoor Hot Tub or spend time soaking in the surroundings within our large garden.

With hundreds of miles of cycling routes, both on and off-road, unleash the adventurer inside of you. Hurtle down a mountain, try a trick in a bike park or enjoy the smooth and quiet coastal roads.
Culture
Some of the most famous landmarks and areas of natural beauty are located in the region, such as the famous and dramatic Dunnottar Castle or the glorious and lush Glen Clova. You are spoilt for choice.

Let the little ones loose with both Arbroaths Pleasureland or Aberdeens Codonas Amusement Park within driving distance. A great way to spend an afternoon and an adventure for the entire family.

Whether you are looking for a retreat in to nature or a city day trip for museums, sight-seeing or even a spot of shopping you can reach all the best sights within a couple hours drive.
